The 2nd Annual Apple Day Writers’ Workshop is today, beginning at 10 a.m., at Douthat State Park’s Conference Center in Clifton Forge. From 10 a.m. to noon is a poetry session with M. Ray Allen. Noon to 1 p.m. is reserved for a lunch break. A songwriting session is from 1-3 p.m. with Bob Campbell. From 3:15-4 p.m. is an open mic session for poets and songwriters. Scholarships are available for high school and college students. The cost is $50 for both sessions and $30 for one session.
