Beech Grove Christian Church, 1207 Beech Grove Road, Roseland, will host a dinner and movie night on July 19 at 5 p.m. For more information, call Pastor Mike Auen at 241-2317.

Bethany Lutheran Church, 100 Maple Ave., Waynesboro, will host Vacation Bible School July 28 through Aug. 1 from 9-11:30 a.m. Children 3-years-old through fifth grade are welcome to join, but all children must be potty trained. Community Fellowship of the Nazarene, 2959 Hermitage Road, Waynesboro – will host a Pay What You Wish Yard sale and fundraiser on Saturday, from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m.  Homemade barbecue and boardwalk fries will be available beginning at 9 a.m.

Keith Plott will be in concert Aug. 31 at 6:30 p.m. A love offering will be collected. Plott has sung bass for groups like Brian Free and Assurance and Mercy’s Way, performed at the Grand Ole Opry and the National Quartet Convention.

Morning Star Baptist Church, Mine Branch Road, Crimora,will hold a Pew Rally on Sunday at 4 p.m. The guest speaker will be Connie Vest from Christ Tabernacle Church of God in Christ in Waynesboro.

Mountain View Church of Afton will host a fellowship breakfast Sunday, from 8:30-9:30 a.m. The event is sponsored by the Bible class. Everyone is welcomed to attend and meet new friends.

The Pentecostal Outreach Church in Buena Vista continues its Seventh Virginia Southern Gospel Jubilee today and tomorrow in Glen Maury Park, located on 10th Street in Buena Vista, beginning at 6 p.m. tonight and at 5 p.m. tomorrow. Southern gospel singing groups from around the country will perform each evening. The event is free, but a free-will offering will be collected nightly.
Camp parking and concessions will be available. Rain or shine, the event will take place.
Gospel singing groups attending include: on Thursday: Mike Upright, of Asheville, N.C.; the Browders, of Hiltons; and Kevin Spencer and Friends, of Ashland, Ohio. On Friday: Restoration, of Gordonsville; the Singing Cookes and the Cooke Brothers, of Kingsport, Tenn. And on Saturday: the Bowlings, of Corbin, Ky.; the Oxendines, of Shannon, N.C.; and Carla and Redemption, of Lumberton, N.C.

Steadfast Church of God in Christ invites the community to a Women’s Day gathering on Sunday at 5 p.m. The guest speaker will be Missionary Terraine Miles of Fresh Annointing Cathedral of Richmond. St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church will hold a blood drive at the corner of 11th Street and Maple Avenue in Waynesboro. Interested participants should meet July 26, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the cafeteria. This event is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, Heart of the Valley Council #10760. The blood drive is open to the public.

Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Church, 30 Tinkling Spring Drive, Fishersville. Nursery care is provided for both services and Sunday school. The church is handicapped accessible.  The 8:30 a.m. service will be held in the pavilion, weather permitting.

On Sunday, the Brethren will recognize the 222nd Annual Conference of the Church of the Brethren which meets the same day to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the founding of the denominations by Alexander Mack in 1708 in Germany, by celebrating the outreach ministry of the Gideons. William McElroy will be the guest speaker with the theme, “Who Does God Use to Reach Out to the Lost?,” referring to Psalm 84:10-12 and Isaiah 55:11 serving as the text.There will be no “Talk-on” session held today.

Waynesboro Free Methodist Church, corner of Ivy Street and Hopeman Parkway, holds Sunday school classes, for all ages, at 9:30 a.m. A staffed nursery for babies and a mothers’ room are available for small children where mothers can see and hear the service. Junior church, “Discovery Road,” is available for children from 4-years-old through the fifth grade.
Tuesday evening is junior teens night, starting at 7 p.m. On Wednesday night, at 7 p.m., is the adult prayer meeting.
