Beech Grove Christian Church, 1207 Beech Grove Road, Roseland, will host a dinner and movie on Saturday at 5 p.m. For more information, call Pastor Mike Auen at 241-2317.

Bethany Lutheran Church, 100 Maple Ave., will host Vacation Bible School July 28 through Aug. 1 from 9-11:30 a.m. All children must be potty trained. For more information, or to register for VBS, contact the church.

Beulah Baptist Church, 15 China Clay Road, Stuarts Draft, will celebrate an annual homecoming Sunday. Pastor Spellman will deliver the 11 a.m. message. Lunch will follow the morning service. At 3 p.m., the Rev. Otis Spellman, pastor of Galilee Baptist Church in Louisa, his choir and congregation will be the guests.
The Rev. Spellman will also be the guest preacher for the revival Monday-Wednesday, beginning with a praise service at 7 p.m. nightly. Area guest choirs will provide the music. All are welcome.

Bible Truth Church of Stuarts Draft will hold a Chinese auction Aug. 16 at the VFW building in Stuarts Draft, across the street from the Liberty gas station on Route 340. Bidding will go from 2-3:30 p.m. The first 25 tickets are $5, every set after is $3. Prizes include Walmart gift cards, movie passes, Massanutten Watermark passes, a Lisa Geiman print, bookbags, school supplies, an MP3 player, Red Lobster gift certificates, and more. The grand prize is a $100 gas card. Door prizes will be given away throughout the auction, as well as the 50/50 drawing. Food and drinks will also be available. First Presbyterian Church, 100 East Frederick St., Staunton, holds Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. The Rev. Dietrich will deliver the message, “Chutes and Ladders,” based on Genesis 28:10-19a. Bible study will resume in the fall. For more information, call the church at 886-0704.

Fishersville Baptist Church, 1518 Jefferson Highway, Fishersville, holds Adult Bible study and Set Apart Youth on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. Choir rehearsal begins at 7:30 p.m.
Keith Plott will be in concert at Fishersville Baptist Church on Aug. 31 at 6:30 p.m. A love offering will be received. Plott has sung bass for groups like Brian Free and Assurance and Mercy’s Way and has received many music awards, including a Southern Gospel Music Association Dove Award. Plott has performed at the Grand Ole Opry and the National Quartet Convention. He has a deep love for God and for his family. This will be an evening to remember.

Pleasant View United Methodist Church, 312 Port Republic Road, presents this week’s sermon “Dry Bones in the Valley.”

Rising Zion Baptist Church, 963 Timber Ridge Rd., Fairfield – The church will hold its 135th church anniversary homecoming services, beginning at 11 a.m., Sunday. The Rev. Roma L. Colmore, of Madison Heights, will be a guest speaker. The Rev. John T. Spears, pastor of Smokey Row Baptist Church, will speak at 3:30 p.m. The choir and congregation are featured guests.
Revival services will follow Monday-Wednesday night: 7 p.m. – devotion and praise services; 7:30 p.m. – worship services.
The Rev. Dr. John Fisher, of Staunton, will evangelize and various choirs will perform.

St. James Baptist Church, 1094 Albemarle Ave. – On Saturday, at 3 p.m., the choirs of the church will celebrate a musical pre-anniversary service. Various area choirs will perform. On Sunday, the choirs will conclude the celebration at 3 p.m. with a musical service.
Other programs during the week will include children’s church on Sunday at 10 a.m.; Wednesday Christian Growth at 6 p.m.; Friday prayer ministry will be held at 6 p.m. on 2nd and 4th Fridays; and, on the 3rd Thursday of every month, the Women’s Ministry Fellowship will meet at 6 p.m.

Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Church, 30 Tinkling Spring Drive, Fishersville – Sunday school for all ages begins at 9:30 a.m. Worship is at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Nursery care is provided for both services and Sunday school. The church is handicapped accessible.
The 8:30 a.m. service will be held in the pavilion, weather permitting.

Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, 364 Bridge Ave., continues its summer schedule, with worship at 9:30 a.m., through July and August.
Pastor Ed Carl will conclude his series, “The Church You’ve Always Longed For,” with the final sermon entitled “Anticipating a Great Future,” using the text Acts 9:1-9. A “talk-on” session will follow the worship allowing individuals the opportunity to raise questions or make comments regarding the theme for the day or the sermon.

Waynesboro Covenant Church – During July and August, WCC will meet jointly with First Presbyterian at 9:30 a.m. in the upper room. The upper room is on the third floor. First Presbyterian is located on the corner of Wayne Avenue and 11th Street.

Waynesboro Free Methodist Church, corner of Ivy Street and Hopeman Parkway. Sunday school classes, for all ages, begin at 9:30 a.m. The worship service begins at 10:30 a.m. with contemporary worship music, hymns and a dynamic message by Pastor David Kurtz. A staffed nursery for babies and a Mothers’ Room are available for small children where mothers can see and hear the service. Junior church, “Discovery Road,” is available for children from 4 years old through the fifth grade.
Tuesday evening is Junior Teens night, starting at 7 p.m. On Wednesday night, at 7 p.m., is the adult prayer meeting.

Waynesboro Mennonite Church, 1801 Monroe St.,– Sunday school classes, for all ages, are at 9:30 a.m. The Sunday morning worship service is at 10:30 a.m.
The pastor will deliver the message, “Freedom from Legalism,” taken from the Bible text Matthew 12:1-13.
On Tuesday at 7 p.m., Celebrate Recovery meets.

Waynesboro Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1700 Lyndhurst Road – This Saturday, Sabbath school is at 9:30 a.m., with Bible study classes geared specifically for children from birth through age 18. There are also several adult classes available, which are currently studying the topic of “Agents of Hope: God’s Great Missionaries.”

Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1904 Mt. Vernon St.  – Sunday school classes for children and adults will be held at 9:45 a.m. and 11 a.m. to accommodate persons attending both worship services.
A red door contemporary service will be held at 9:30 a.m. in the chapel. A traditional blended service will follow at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary.
Guest speakers for this Sunday will be Robert Goshorn at the red door service and Ramona Bosserman at the 11 a.m. service.
Vacation Bible School will be held July 28-31, from 5:30-8 p.m. The theme will be, “Power Lab – Discovering Jesus’ Miraculous Power.”

A benefit concert will be held for Raphine Christian Church at the Spottswood Community Center on Sunday at 6 p.m. High on the Mountain Boys will perform. Join them to help neighbors and friends.

A blood drive will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, located at the corner of 11th Street and Maple Avenue in Waynesboro. Interested participants should meet July 26, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the church cafeteria. This event is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, Heart of the Valley Council #10760. The blood drive is open to the public.
