Two people were airlifted to the University of Virginia Medical Center on Sunday after the Ford Mustang convertible they were traveling in hit an embankment in Staunton and rolled over.
Sgt. E.J. Salemi, of the Staunton Police Department, said the Ford was headed north on Morris Mill Road around 4:30 p.m. when the accident happened.
Edward Geiman, 36, identified as the driver of the vehicle, was ejected and pinned under the car. The 12-year-old male passenger was wearing a seat belt. Salemi said both the driver and passenger suffered serious injuries and were airlifted to U.Va.
Geiman was in critical condition Sunday evening, according to U.Va.
