Citing “grossly exaggerated” claims, DuPont has filed a motion in U.S. District Court today to have Invista’s $800 million lawsuit - seeking damages over non-compliance with environmental and safety regulations - dismissed.
Invista filed its lawsuit March 26 in federal court.
In a statement, DuPont spokesperson Anthony Farina continued to refer to Invista’s claims as “grossly exaggerated.”
“We believe Invista’s claims are not supported by the facts or the law,” Farina said. “Invista’s suit is based on a con-tract that we contend Invista violated. In addition to denying the breadth and extent of Invista’s claims, DuPont believes Invista cannot recover on their claims as a result of their contract violation. We are confident in our position.”
According to Invista’s original lawsuit, the company’s Waynesboro plant is one of 14 former DuPont factories out of compliance with pollution and safety laws.

I can’t believe any of their plants were ever incompliance with pollution, health,or safety laws..the only way DuPont got away with it is because of the money that backed them..DONT BACK DOWN,INVISTA..SEARCH FOR THE TRUTH..I am sure there are people ready to talk and let the truth be known..it is not buried that deep..

I would like to know who has to die from cancer before someone realizes all of the deaths that are taking place for people between the age of 40 and 60,and the relationship it has with DuPont? When I read my hometown paer 7 see all the deaths, know the person either worked ther or lived close, really bothers me and surprises mre that no one has started an investigation into the chemicals that were used by that plant..I know because I worked there..that place was full of cancer causing chemicals..wake up Waynesboro before all of the natives of our hometown are history...800 million is not enough in my book..that company should be bankrupted for the pain & suffering it has brought to a small town..I worked for a cleaning crew there..you had to sign a paper stating you would not hold DuPont liable if you ended up with cancer...they knew all along...but did not care....
