The Waynesboro Invista has donated two of its Kenworth tractor diesel trucks to Valley Vocational Technical Center’ in Fishersville for its diesel mechanic program.
The program will use the trucks to train students by having them disassemble and reassemble them.
“The trucks were used for pulling trailers that carried product within the plant,” said Dirk Gold, a reliability engineer with Invista, in a press release. “We are updat-ing our equipment and thought these trucks might be valuable to VVTC in further expanding their outstanding program.”
Invista Site Manager Mike Laczynski said the company believes in giving back, and VVTC Principal Darla Miller expressed appreciation for the gift.
“It is companies like Invista that contribute to Valley Vocational Technical Center that aid in our program’s success,” Miller said in the press release. “The donation of these trucks will provide additional learning opportunities for our students.”
