The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office assisted the U.S. Marshal’s Capital Area Regional Task Force Tuesday to arrest an Ohio man wanted in connection with an attack on his ex-wife.

Rudolph Matland III, 27, was arrested at his sister’s home in Stuarts Draft, according to a U.S. Marshals press release. He faces charges in Youngstown, Ohio of attempted murder, felonious assault, kidnapping, aggravated burglary and domestic violence.

The assault occurred in the early morning of Sept. 30. The Youngstown Police Department and Marshals in Ohio tracked Matland to Virginia, the release said. He is being held at Middle River Regional Jail and awaits extradition to Ohio.
