The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office searched Tuesday afternoon for a man wanted for a shooting in the Sherando area.
Sgt. Jonathon Sholes said the shooting happened around 1 p.m. on Mount Torrey Road, in the area between Sherando Lake and B&R Grocery.
He said the victim, a middle-aged male, was shot in the area near the shoulder, and was taken to a hospital.
The shooting suspect took off from the residence on foot, and could have fled in a red Toyota pickup truck.
