Ready for Riverfest?

Riverfest will take place tomorrow along Main Street next to the South River in downtown Waynesboro from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission to all events is free.
The NBC29 forecast for tomorrow calls for partly sunny conditions in the morning, followed by mostly cloudy conditions in the afternoon with a 70 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms and temperatures in the lower 80s.
The Road and River Relay will kick off the day at 10 a.m. The event is a 16.5 mile run, paddle and bike triathlon. Individuals or groups still wanting to participate can still do so. All Day
Stream Safari - discover mysteries of life in the South River
Wildlife Center of Virginia exhibit
Music and announcements by Jeff Fife
Plant sale by the Virginia Native Plant Society
Native American demonstrations and exhibits
Fish ‘n Fun Rodeo - for kids to test their casting skill
Nature exhibits, children’s art table, food vendors, canoe rides and more…
Special Events
10 a.m. - Road and River Relay, for runners, paddlers and bikers. Contact: or (540) 943-2752
10 a.m. - Awards Ceremony for winners of the Poster Contest
10:30 a.m. - Reptile World - see snakes and other live reptiles and learn about the important roles they play in our world
12 p.m. - Riverfest Pageant - an educational play about the ecology of rivers and ponds performed by local students
1 p.m. - Road and River Relay Awards Ceremony
1:30 p.m. - Stream Electo-fishing and Interpretation - Conducted by the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, get up close and personal with up to 20 fish species captured, displayed and discussed in a riverside aquarium.
2:30 p.m. - Reptile World - repeat of the morning performance.
4 p.m. - The Great South River Duck Race
