Three detained for Sunoco theft

Waynesboro police detained three men on the 100 block of North Winchester Avenue at about 11:15 a.m. in relation to the theft of more than $900 in cigarettes, cigars, lighters, beer and food items from Sunoco on East Main Street at about 3:30 a.m. Friday.
Formal arrests are pending, Sgt. Kelly Walker said.
Glass on the front door was broken and the alarm sounded, according to a news release. Some evidence was found at the scene, police said, but no suspects were found.
