Staunton’s largest ward, Ward 2, buzzed at 4 p.m., but hadn’t seen a single lull, election officials said.
“It’s starting to gear up for that next push,“ said Democrat poll volunteer Mike Cirigliano, who had been outside handing out sample ballots since 6 a.m.
More than 2,200 voters had come through the polling station at Christ United Methodist Church by 3:45 p.m.
