U.S. Senate candidate and former Virginia Gov. Mark Warner’s visit today to Waynesboro and Staunton was canceled because of a flare-up of a sports injury.
Warner said during an afternoon telephone call to the Waynesboro Democratic Headquarters that he had difficulty walking today because of an injury he suffered playing basketball.
Warner was to appear in downtown Waynesboro for the opening of the Waynesboro Democratic Committee headquarters about 1 p.m. He also was to do a Main Street tour of businesses and appear at an afternoon reception at the Heritage Museum. Late in the afternoon, Warner was to appear at the “Paint the Valley Blue’‘ Democratic fundraiser at the Frontier Culture Museum.
