Waynesboro city officials will hold a 2 p.m. news conference today in the council chambers of the Charles Yancey Municipal Building to discuss Waynesboro's Nov. 6 bond referendum.
Vice Mayor Nancy Dowdy, Assistant City Manager Michael G. Hamp, II, city Attorney Robert C. Lunger and Clerk of the Circuit Court Nicole A. Briggs are scheduled to attend.
In the November referendum, voters backed bonds for stormwater management improvements, a new fire station and library expansion. Council members said after the vote that they would support borrowing $10 million for those projects. Counting interest, those projects are expected to cost $165 million over 20 years.
Voters rejected a $1.2 million bond for sidewalk improvements and $2.6 million for city baseball fields.
