Three arrests since Friday have shuffled the Staunton Police Department’s “10 most wanted” list, police announced today.
None of the arrests came from tips to the department’s anonymous Crime Stoppers phone number, but the updated “most wanted” list is available at the city’s Web site.
Martin Chambers, 47, of Staunton, was arrested Tuesday for failure to appear for a warrant issued by the Staunton Circuit Court.
Also Tuesday, Christopher Roberson was arrested for four counts of contributing to the deliquency of a minor, four charges of felony grand larceny and five chargers of misdemeanor petty larceny, police said.
On Friday, Virginia State Police arrested Michael Toney, 37, of Staunton, after a high-speed chase that ended in Charlottesville.
Staunton Officer Lisa Klein said the string of “most wanted” arrests is a first.
Anonymous callers can receive up to a $1,000 reward for information about suspects by calling Crime Stoppers at (800) 322-2017.

Our “forces” need to concentrate on it’s own locality. For example, it seems that the Burger King on Richmond Road, the one in the front of Wal-Mart, has become a “drop-off” site for drugs. In fact, I have seen these people use their own “children and babies” as vessels to push the narcotics. One conversation explains that “he is here to visit the child as a neutral spot for the child custody case”—but for only fifteen minutes? These patterns are weird but definitely worth checking into.

The article starts off implying these 3 people were being sought for a long period of time but could not be found. Later I get the impression that 2 of the three could have been apprehended at any time. Does the 10 most wanted list really include only people whose whereabouts is unknown and are actively being sought?
