A Waynesboro man turned himself in to police Wednesday for an alleged abduction attempt that was foiled by an angry dog.
Around noon Tuesday, Marvin W. Harris, 25, arrived at a residence on the 600 block of North Winchester Avenue where his ex-girlfriend was visiting two females, said Sgt. Kelly Walker of the Waynesboro Police Department. The women attempted to block Harris at the door, but he pushed past them, grabbing his ex-girlfriend and dragging her out of the house, police said.
But when one of the women released a pit-bull, Harris promptly left the residence, police said.
Harris turned himself in to authorities at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, and has been charged with abduction, simple assault, and breaking and entering with intent to commit assault, police said. He is being held at Middle River Regional Jail without bond.
