STAUNTON – Police on Friday were seeking a man who robbed the sales office of the Augusta County Co-op Farm Bureau on U.S. 250.
Just before 3 p.m., the suspect brandished a knife on an employee at the co-op and took off with an undisclosed amount of money, according to Staunton Police Officer E.J. Salemi. There were no injuries, he said.
The suspect, according to police, is a heavyset white male, 6 feet, 4 inches tall with neck-length, stringy black hair and wearing a short-sleeved yellow shirt and khaki pants. He was driving a white, short-bed four-door GMC pickup truck at the time of the robbery, Salemi said.
“We are still canvassing the area to look for the vehicle,” Salemi said following the robbery.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Staunton Police Department at 332-3842 or call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-322-2017.
