A Staunton man was arrested Sunday for allegedly detaining a Tennessee woman at knifepoint for two hours, police said.
Traon Jordan, 18, met a 20-year-old Bristol woman visiting a friend on the 600 block of B Street in Staunton early Sunday morning, police said. After the woman rebuked a series of advances, Jordan allegedly held a knife to her face before seizing her Tennessee identification card and slicing it in half with the words, “This is what I’m going to do to you,” police said.
When the woman retreated into a bedroom at around 5:45 a.m., Jordan allegedly followed her, locking the door and barring it with furniture, police said. Jordan allegedly held the woman for two hours, threatening and physically restraining her if she tried to leave. She was able to escape at around 8:30 a.m. and immediately contacted authorities, police said.
Jordan has been charged with abduction, assault and petit larceny and is being held at Middle River Regional Jail.
