Slade Woodson, the 19-year-old Afton man facing charges for a string of shootings in Waynesboro and on Interstate 64 last month, appeared in a Waynesboro court this morning for an advisement on two new charges in the city.
The new charges—one felony charge of shooting into an occupied building and one felony charge of shooting from a vehicle—were filed last Friday and will be added to earlier felony charges of destruction of property and firing into an occupied building. A preliminary hearing on all the charges is scheduled for May 12.
Woodson requested a public defender at the 8:30 a.m. advisement hearing in Waynesboro General District Court.
Woodson is also facing felony indictments in Albemarle County for allegedly shooting five occupied cars traveling on Interstate 64, slightly injuring two people, and shooting an unoccupied VDOT dump truck.
