Fishburne holds graduation ceremony today

Fishburne Military School will celebrate its 129th commencement today at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, with alumnus John Thompson speaking.
Thirty-one graduates from 11 states will receive their diplomas during the ceremony. Following the commencement, Fishburne’s traditional “final formation” will take place on the school’s quadrangle.
All of today’s graduates will leave the Waynesboro campus with college acceptances in hand.
Thompson is a 1989 Fishburne graduate. During his time at the school he served as battalion commander and competed on the school’s wrestling, cross country, tennis and track teams.
Thompson earned an architecture degree from Virginia Teach in 1994.
He has worked with architectural firms in New Jersey, Philadelphia and San Francisco.
The firm Thompson now works with, David Baker and Partners Architects, has recieved numerous awards for its work.
Thompson is currently the project architect for a 160-unit warehouse loft conversion project in Oakland, Calif.
