Area Democrats plan major August fundraiser

A local Democratic Party fundraiser set for Staunton’s Frontier Culture Musem Aug. 16 will feature U.S. Senate candidate Mark Warner as well as Sixth District Congressional candidate Sam Rasoul and gubernatorial candidate Creigh Deeds.
The event, set for 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 16, is called “Paint the Valley Blue.“ Music will be provided by Rhythm Road and Barbara Martin. There will be a live and silent auction and cash bar. Eric Stamer Catering will provide a barbecue dinner.
Tickets are $35 a person and may be purchased at Celebrate at 107 E. Beverley St. in Staunton and the Augusta Free Press at 539 E. Main St. in Waynesboro.
The event will benefit the Waynesboro, Staunton and Augusta Democratic committees.
