Budget work session tonight

The Waynesboro City Council meets this evening for a budget work session at 6 p.m. in the council chambers of the Charles T. Yancey Municipal Building at 503 West Main Street.
The council will discuss the following fiscal 2009 budgets recommended by City Manager Doug Walker:

· Treasurer ($267,250 recommended, 8.9 percent increase)
· City Council ($159,855 recommended, 5.5 percent increase)
· City Manager ($373,002 recommended, 3.3 percent increase)
· Parks & Recreation ($1,804,332, $486 decrease)
· Cemetery ($51,996, 61.2 percent decrease)
· Building Custodial Services ($29,230, 4.3 percent increase)

The cemetery and building custodial budgets are a part of the overall parks and recreation budget. The council will also discuss the Add/Delete list and revenues.
