The Waynesboro City Council will once again take a look at its proposed $41 million budget for fiscal 2009 this evening in the Charles T. Yancey Municipal Building beginning at 6 p.m.
Specifically, the council will take a look at the Department of Public Works budget. For Public Works administration, City Manager Doug Walker is recommending a 45.7 percent, or $481,861 increase in its budget to $1.2 million. The increase includes about $685,000 in increases to pay for a reduced stormwater program.
The council also plans to convene a closed meeting to discuss appointing an interim City Attorney. Current City Attorney Robert Lunger is stepping down to go into private practice.
