STAUNTON- A circuit court judge recessed the disputed case of Augusta County delegates to the 6th District and state conventions along with the issue of the political party’s chairmanship after hearing an hour of arguments Friday.
Circuit Court judge Victor Ludwig was to rule on whether an injunction could be granted when the hearing resumed at 1:30 p.m.
Ludwig heard arguments from the attorney who brought the complaint, Francis Chester, who is representing 20 delegates to the 6th District and State conventions. Chester is alleging that the rights of delegates to be seated at both conventions are being challenged, as is the chairmanship of Augusta County Republican Committee chairman Kurt Michael.
