The 6th District Congressional race now has a third candidate, independent Janice Lee Allen.
Allen is a Bridgewater resident and graduate of Emory and Henry College, Virginia Tech, Wesley Theological Seminary and Christian Bible College and Seminary. She said Thursday she has qualified to run in November against incumbent Congressman Bob Goodlatte and Democrat Sam Rasoul.
In her announcement, Allen says she owns her own real estate business and is a member of a family that includes generations of farmers, laborers and small business owners.
“It is time for us to have a voice in Congress who will represent each and every individual in this district, and not someone who is tited to a party platform,‘’ Allen said.
