RICHMOND—The State Central Committee of the Virginian Republican Party denied Larry Roller’s appeal to be chairman of the Augusta County Republican Committee today.

An appeals committee ruled that the Sixth District committee had correctly ruled that Kurt Michael was chairman earlier this month.

The appeals committee said that the first portion of the April 10 Augusta GOP mass meeting was not run appropriately and that the Sixth District decision to keep Michael as chairman was valid.

Roller was elected chairman 141-103 during the first portion of the April 10 meeting, but the state appeals committee reported Friday that the meeting lacked a proper credential committee report, proper rules and was not properly adjourned.

Roller said he may consider court action based on Friday’s decision.
