The council will discuss the following fiscal 2009 budgets:

· Fire Department ($2,368,761; 7.7 percent increase)

The dramatic increase to the Economic Development Authority is for the economic development incentive rebate to the Waynesboro Town Center. The overall proposed city budget is about $41 million.
The council will also consider holding a closed meeting to discuss appointing an interim City Attorney. The council has thus far held budget work sessions to discuss budgets for the school division, police department and the public works department.
