Bruce Allen, running for the Ward B seat on the Waynesboro City Council, received a public endorsement today from councilman Tim Williams.
Williams, the incumbent in Ward A, is running unopposed, while Chris Graham and Greg Bruno oppose Allen.
With a backdrop of nearly 50 Allen supporters, including former councilman Reo Hatfield, Williams said Allen’s integrity “is beyond reproach.”
“His principles are grounded in the belief that empowering people means trusting them with the money they earned,” Williams said. “He is committed to solving the problems we face in our city, and overcoming the challenges we face today, without forcing our children and grandchildren to pay for them tomorrow.”
Allen, along with Williams and At-large councilman Frank Lucente, most recently received the endorsement of the United Workers Local 381 of the Brotherhood of DuPont Workers.
“I think he wanted the people of Waynesboro to know where his vote was going to go at on Tuesday,” Allen said of Williams’ endorsement. “
Tuesday night, Allen said, “will be a good night for everybody.”
