Poor sports are the losers
As I watched an American Legion Baseball game recently at Stuarts Draft's Diamond Club Field, I had a hard time understanding everything that happened and why.
A batter who struck out in the first inning threw his bat into the screen and almost hit one of his teammates, and there was no reprimand.
Another player later was ejected because of the way he behaved. After words with the umpire, he was ordered out of the park. The winning team's coach did not get his players to have the proper control to play like young adults.
The players on the losing team were the big winners. Their coach had them controlling themselves and believing in themselves by telling them to keep their head in the game.
They were there to play ball.
Things got so out of control that the head umpire stopped play and walked off the field. After a few minutes of time to regain his composure, he returned to the field.
I am sorry to say I did not enjoy the game. How can our children learn to behave if the adults do not show them-
