Voters should be well-informed
One thing worse than not voting is voting for the wrong person.
Blind partisan politics is dangerous business. Republican, Democrat or Independent matters not when the representative fails to represent you, the citizenry (the voter).
Case in point is the recent Republican Senate primary, which elected incumbent Emmett Hanger.
Those well-informed people who knew Emmett Hanger personally, politically and his record of long devoted service benefiting particularly this district, elected him. Votes cast by the better-informed electorate, namely those closest to Hanger - Valley people - prove further that he was the right choice. Highly partisan politics (only) failed.
To save our great nation, we must invest time, effort and energy in electing the right people to represent us in Washington. We must become better informed about the legislative actions of current representatives. We must know their voting record.
Sorry, we cannot accept voting with their party or pandering to the president as a means of representing us.
