Take a second look

With regard to the Wayne Theatre, the prospect of having an historic landmark restored and fully functional in downtown Waynesboro is very exciting and should be widely supported.
Personally having lived in St. Louis, Baltimore and Annapolis, I came to love each of these cities for their cultural charm and uniqueness. The city governments in each of these locations have partnered with private entities in funding the preservation and development of their cultural landmarks. The city of Staunton has also partnered with private organizations to revitalize their downtown. So why is it seemingly unpopular in Waynesboro-

Our world is growing and changing. The outlook of our citizens and city officials should also proactively embrace a bright future for Waynesboro. In the future, what will attract your children and grandchildren to return to Waynesboro when they are grown- I encourage you to take second look at the Wayne Theatre Project and see it for its real value and potential. It's worth our city's support.
