Vote for Hanger
Why should anyone take time from a busy schedule to vote for Emmett Hanger in the Republican Primary on June 12, 2007-
Let's think about that excellent leadership, dedicated public service, common sense and strong values are just a few reasons to take the time to vote for Emmett Hanger.
As Hanger's former principal and teacher at Fort Defiance High School, we recognized then his extraordinary leadership abilities, and we knew he was destined for success in any career he chose.
Coming from humble beginnings, Sen. Hanger excelled in numerous scholastic activities in high school, worked to pay his entire college tuition, graduated with honors from James Madison University, and then served our state and nation in the U.S. Army.
This hard-working, dedicated man has served Senatorial District 24 since 1996, and is considered one of the top senators in the state Senate. Without reservation, we highly endorse Emmett Hanger for another four-year term in the state legislature.
Senator Hanger strongly stands for his beliefs, keenly understands the concerns of the average citizen, and tirelessly serves his constituents.
We need this good man to remain in his position to support education to improve transportation, to keep taxes under control and to protect our cherished values.
Take time on Tuesday, June 12, to vote for Emmett Hanger, a man of integrity, who serves all in the Shenandoah Valley and Blue Ridge Mountains to keep our future protected and well represented. See you at the polls!

Hanger has common sense
The citizens of the 24th District need to vote June 12 in the Republican Primary. Whoever wins will go to Richmond to serve the public. Many more issues need to be talked about besides the "No Tax Please," which seems a little like the "No Car Tax Please."
Issue's like the lack of affordable health care, an increase in the minimum wage to a living wage, the badly needed repair of our roads and bridges and the commonwealth's purchase of vehicles that don't get good gas mileage when they are driven back and forth for work.
Also, why, for the very first time, the Department of Corrections budget has gone over $1 billion dollars, and what about stem-cell research that may help people with diabetes, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease-
It seems like some of the Republicans have forgotten the late President Ronald Reagan's 11th commandment - "Speak no evil of another Republican." Maybe Sen. Emmett Hanger Jr., Mount Solon, should run as an Independent!
Why are some republicans beating up Sen. Hanger for out-of-district campaign funds when one local delegate, Chris Saxman of Staunton, has over $36,000 in out-of-district funds-
I have not agreed with all of Sen. Hanger's votes; however, he is a good Christian man, one who will not campaign on Sunday! One who will represent all the citizens in his district, not just a few. Join me and vote to return Sen. Hanger to Richmond. A man with common sense!

Vote for Sayre
On June 12, there will be a primary in which all local citizens will be able to vote for state senator. After getting to know the two candidates, Scott Sayre and current Sen. Emmett Hanger - who has served 12 years - there is a clear choice. Twelve years is enough.
Scott Sayre will vote to keep taxes and government fat as low as possible.
He is the money conservative who will represent us best in the Valley, not what we have seen these past 12 years with broken promises, tax increases and poor response.
Scott Sayre is the one who will be in line with our Valley beliefs and needs. It's time for an improvement and a change.
