Much thanks is deserved

Volunteer firefighter instructors in Augusta County and surrounding areas deserve some well-earned thanks for all their time and prior training by teaching new firefighters and others to be better able to serve Augusta County and the surrounding cities and counties.

These instructors volunteer a lot of their time away from their families to help all of us.

Having just completed Fire Fighter One, I have seen firsthand all the time and personal help they give to all student trainees.
The instructors are well trained, very professional, but extremely helpful. They do all this, expecting nothing in return except to make us all better trained and be an asset to our communities.

I personally would like to thank Augusta County Training Officer Captain Dave Hilley for all the extra time he spent with us and being as well-trained as he is. He used his training and extra time to help us become the best firefighters we can be.

George Stevens, president,
Wilson Volunteer Fire Company 19
