I appreciate your article on the Statler Brothers’ induction in the Country Music Hall of Fame (“Statlers bring further distinction to Staunton,” June 29). I have been a fan of theirs since their beginning.
I want the people to know that this area has another connection to the Hall of Fame ceremonies in Nashville. Heather Berry, a native of Sherando, records on Tom T. Hall’s Blue Circle Records and was chosen to sing Tom T. Hall’s songs for his induction into the Hall of Fame.
Berry has been singing and recording since age 12, the last two recordings at Tom T. Hall’s studio, many of which were written by Tom T. Hall and Miss Dixie.
Many people in this area are familiar with Berry and her music. She has presented numerous programs and benefits locally, one of which is the Tim Spears Christmas benefit.
It was a great honor for Heather Berry to be among the few people chosen to participate in this historical event and especially singing for the great Tom T. Hall’s induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
