Post 340 still winless through seven games
The magic number for Post 340 is seven, but it’s not a lucky number as the men from the River City were trumped 13-3 by Orange Post 156 at Kate Collins Field on Tuesday night. The loss was the squad’s seventh straight loss in its winless season. “We play well for five to six innings and if we get frustrated, we lose it,” said manger Gary Weatherholtz.June 13, 2008
Only a start
FISHERSVILLE Win or lose, managing Post 340 and being part of a baseball family is as satisfying as biting down into a Coney Island hotdog. Waynesboro manager Rob Cale was not frustrated that his young team lost its first two games of the season, but as long as it’s baseball, the sophomore manager of Waynesboro’s American Legion junior squad will take the lumps as they come. After a big loss to Post 13 on Monday, the team hit the field the next night for a two-hour of practice run at Wilson Memorial High School.Page 1 of 1 pages
