Western wins Group AA meet
HARRISONBURG — The Southern Valley only put a handful of athletes on the podium on Saturday afternoon during the Group AA meet. Western Albemarle took the boys team championship at the Group AA meet in Harrisonburg on Friday with 54 points, mixing consistent finishes with strong upfront performances.May 30, 2008

HARRISONBURG – Stuarts Draft’s Christina Fenske was easy to find at the Group AA track and field championship on Friday night. Her rainbow-colored knee socks were not easily missed and neither was her domination in high jump. Fenske placed first with a 5-foot, 4-inch jump. “I joined track two years ago. I really wasn’t into it that much,” Fenske said. “But I really started to love it – especially the high jump. I finished last year in ninth place, so to place first is really exciting.”April 17, 2008

Robert E. Lee swept its home tri-meet on Wednesday with Waynesboro and Rockbridge, earning 81 points in the boys events and 115 in the girls. The Waynesboro boys finished second with 53 points and Rockbridge finished with 18.
