CHAPEL HILL, N.C.—Dustin Keys kicked the go-ahead 45-yard field goal as Virginia Tech rallied from a two-touchdown deficit to beat North Carolina 20-17 on Saturday.
Kenny Lewis Jr. and Darren Evans ran for second-half touchdowns for the Hokies (3-1, 2-0 Atlantic Coast Conference), who struggled much of the way in a matchup of the league’s Coastal Division favorites before putting together an impressive comeback.
Brandon Tate and Greg Little each scored touchdowns for the Tar Heels (2-1, 0-1), who lost quarterback T.J. Yates to a sprained left ankle midway through the third quarter.
North Carolina led 17-3 midway through the third quarter.
